A picture of me for Internet

Born and bred on  western stories by Zane Grey and Louis L’Amour, I grew up in the middle of nowhere Saskatchewan.  Although modern life intervened, I soon realized the similarities between my life and North American western past. From riding horses, playing cowboys and Indians with real Indians combined with the scenery of vast, open prairies and endless horizons I was living my dream.

I tried but found it difficult to express the freedom I experienced.  Once I said to my mother, ‘If I want to ride around nude, I can.  No one will see me.’  She didn’t understand. ‘Who wants to ride around nude?  Don’t talk so foolish.’  But it sums up my feelings so well, foolish or not.

Later, after my dad passed away, we moved into a small townRumor has it… is alive and well in small towns.  People know everything about other people’s business. I discovered what they didn’t know was assumed and soon became a fact. I came to a hasty conclusion that I couldn’t ride around town in the nude.

A seismic crew came to our small farming community when I was 15.  Working in the only theater in town, I had ample opportunity to meet these new, exciting hunks. I could easily pass myself off as an 18 year old – which I did.  When they left I was devastated.  Life became boring again.  So my girlfriend and I went to Calgary with no money. When we got off the bus, we sat drinking hot chocolate (The only thing we could afford, wondering what to do now). A man approached and after asking us if we were immigrants, suggested we go to the New Wales, a large hotel and get jobs.  We did and were immediately hired.   What a revelation.

From isolation to the excitement of Calgary (Cow Town).  So began my investigations into romance.  After six months, I went back home to grow-up.

I belong to the Romance Writers of America and Alberta Romance Writer’s Association and have attended many conventions in both Canada and the USA. I also  edit/critique and review manuscripts.

I have published – ”Hawk’s Gift“, ”Alberta Wild Rose“, “Paradise on the Horizon” – historical romance and  – “One Dance with a Stranger” and  “Never Pick a Pretty Woman”(First of three books in the Crystal Ridge Sweet Romance series) – contemporary romance.   “Sophisticated Cowboy” is planned for the beginning of 2015; and “This Princess wears Cowboy Boots” – which should be available around the middle of year 2015. I am also writing an Inspirational romance  “Seraphim”. This is a story of abuse, losing faith and circumstances that bring my heroine Delaney back to both her religion and her faith in men.

I have recently finished a ‘memoirs’ story of my ancestors and my life growing up on a farm in the middle of nowhere.  ‘Life Changing Days‘ is available on Amazon and Kindle.Life Changing Days - Cover
